GK or Gawad Kalinga which means to give care is a global movement that comprehensively transforms slums and disaster-stricken areas in poor economies into viable, sustainable communities. GK started in the Philippines but has now found its way in other countries in Oceania such as Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the ground-works have been laid out for East Timor. GK does its work through volunteerism, community empowerment and partnership. GK777 is a program within GK that seeks to build 700,000 homes in 7,000 healthy communities within 7 years
